Because of the vast
size of Rome and the incredible amount of attractions to explore,
it's well worth to organize in advance your visit to the city.
We propose you a series of tours and itineraries of the city,
in order not to fail any place, monument or square of considerable
importance.
Archeological Rome
Leaving the arena of the Circo Massimo, the largest building for
shows ever built, you can start your tour to the Coliseum, where you
can also visit the inside.
Crossing the Palatine you may explore the Forum with its ruins,
and continue along the Via dei Fori Imperiali, at the end of which
it’s possible to go up to the town council (Campidoglio), to enjoy a
breath-taking view over the city and to admire the Piazza del Campidoglio
(Campidoglio square). Remember to stop for a visit to the Capitoline
Museums: it's worth it!
Historic Center of Rome - 1
The tour of the historic center of Rome starts from the Ghetto, on the
banks of the Tiber River, home of the oldest Jewish community in Europe.
Continuing north you will reach Campo dei Fiori, lively and picturesque
square where the market is held every morning. At evening time the square
is croweded by young roman people. Not so far from there it’s possible
to reach the splendid Piazza Navona, and then again Piazza della Rotonda
and the Pantheon
Historic Center of Rome - 2
This route goes to delimit the most elegant and chic area of Rome. For more
trained visitors this route may be coupled to a previous visit. It starts
from Piazza Venezia with its Victorian colossal monument to king Vittorio
Emanuele II, to continue northward, reaching Piazza di Trevi with the famous
fountain, where you will not fail to throw a coin...
It then goes on tour to Piazza di Spagna, and so on towards Piazza del Popolo
and Villa Borghese, with the terrace Pincio, where you may take a glance to
a wonderful view of Rome. If you whish to do some shopping, nearby Piazza di
Spagna you will find Via Frattina, Via Condotti, Via del Corso, Via del Babbuino,
Via Margutta ... a paradise for shoppers!
Vatican and Trastevere
To visit the Saint Peter Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Castel Sant'Angelo
will certainly take time and a lot of energy... but if after this tour you
will not be too tired, we recommend you to extend your walk south. Walking
along the right bank of the Tiber you will reach Trastevere, one of the most
characteristic areas of Rome where you can taste the excellent Roman cuisine
in taverns at a good price.
